GD Lodge Architects are delighted to be working with Aberdeenshire Council on a fantastic community regeneration project in Banff, Aberdeenshire. Works are due to commence on the B Listed former bothy and glasshouse in Airlie Gardens, the former walled garden to Duff House, and will see their full restoration including conservation stone and roof repairs to the bothy and hand crafted frame with new glazing to the vinery glasshouse.
The completed buildings will be used by the selected operator, Aberdeen Foyer, a charitable organisation supporting people in the NE of Scotland towards independent living, learning and work. The Vinery will provide much needed opportunities to access wellbeing support and skills training for all ages in a safe, shared space within the community. Produce from the garden and vinery will feed a small community kitchen and café located in the bothy.
